Malmö Nation – Lund's best nation
Malmö Nation is characterized by approximately 90 civil servants and 700 officials who are all involved every semester and create the special atmosphere and cohesion that we are very proud of at Malmö Nation.
Our three guiding principles are: Joy, community and tradition.
Many of our members come from Sweden's larger cities. We currently have over 3000 members, making us one of Lund's largest nations. In addition to this, we are the absolute biggest when it comes to organizing parties. We have had performances from artists such as: Avicii, Kygo, Oskar Linnros, Otto Knows, Thomas Stenström, Daniel Adams-Ray, Timbuktu, Myra Granberg, John Newman, Icona Pop and many more!
We always like to push the boundaries of what is possible for a nation to do. During the spring semester of 2022, we held our third Carnival at the nation – Maxivalen. This weekend we welcomed 6,000 people who enjoyed fantastic performances by, among others, Myra Granberg, Thomas Stenström and Icona Pop! In May 2026 we will be back bigger and better than ever! Between May 22-24, our beloved carnival will return, hope you are ready!
Before the start of each semester, we welcome our new novices who choose to enroll at Malmö Nation with a fantastic Novice period. This includes a Novischpub where fantastic burgers are served and good drinks to go with it. Furthermore, a Novice Day is held, which is a full day where you and your novice group can take part in several different activities and competitions, where we end the evening down at our dear nightclub Casanova. The period ends with the grand Novischfest, which takes place in the autumn at AF-Borgen. In addition to this being an incredibly fun way to enter student life in Lund, during this period you will create memories and friends for life!
As a member of Malmö Nation, you are welcome to get involved in all of our committees.
Food committee: Lunch (Monday-Friday), Mangos (Wednesday dinner), Gyllene Gripen (pub every Thursday and Friday), Brunch (Saturday), Upper East (luxurious Saturday dinner) and Eventeriet (external fine dining)
Party Committee: Casanova, Sex Mastery, House Mastery, Party Mastery, Autumn and Marshal's Office.
Creative committees: Choir, Chapel (our own house band), Photo and film, DJ committee, Natu (makes our national newspaper which is now back after many years of hiatus), Sports committee, Graphics and IT.
In addition, we are the ONLY nation in Lund that offers free entry to our nightclubs for all of our members.
In addition to this, we also organize annual events such as the Novischfesten every semester, the Visboken, the Vårbalen, the Malmö Open (golf competition), the Walpurgissyran on Siste April, the Första majlunchen, the September Haze, the Ålagille and the Siste Novemberlunchen. As a member, you are welcome to either participate or help organize these activities.
In addition to commitment, we also offer housing for students. Malmö Nations Bostäder includes approximately 290 rooms centrally located with the lowest rents in Lund. We have a total of 5 residential buildings owned by the nation. Several of our rooms and apartments have also been completely renovated in recent years. Living at our nation is a unique opportunity to take part in our community and make friends for life!
